Pinchin Johnson & Associates bought control
of SPCV Ltd. & made it part of Red Hand
Composition Company.

The Company became a Public Limited
Company on 27th May.

Its name was changed to Shalimar Paints
Limited on 1st September.

Red Hand Composition was acquired by
International Paints which became a part of
Courtaulds Group, held by the Mehtas of
Jardine Henderson.

Sold to Jhunjhunwalas, & to the O. P. Jindal
Group. They jointly managing the business.

Shalimar was the first large-scale paint manufacturing unit not only in India but also in the whole of south-east Asia.
