Sand surface with 180 emery paper to remove dirt, oil, grease and loose flaking particles of old paint etc. Wipe it clean.
Apply a coat of primer depending upon the surface as per recommended dilution mentioned on pack. For Ferrous Metal Surface – Shalimar Red Oxide Metal Primer, for Nonferrous Surfaces – Shalimar ETCH Primer, for Wood Surface – Shalimar Pink Primer / Universal White Primer, for Masonry Surfaces – Shalimar Universal White Primer. Ensure drying time of at least 6-8 hours for primer coat.
Sand the surface lightly with emery paper 320 and wipe it clean. Apply an additional coat of appropriate primer (if required).

Apply an additional coat depending upon the surface conditions and smoothen the surface
Stir the paint thoroughly and strain through a muslin cloth before use. Dilute Shalimar PU satin with 10-15% of MTO/ GP thinner for brush application and up to 20% in case of spray application. Over dilution will affect the finish and performance of the product. Stir the paint thoroughly after dilution and apply 2-3 coats of Shalimar PU Satin over the primer coat. Intervals between each coat is 8-10 hours. If required do light sanding with emery paper 400 between the coats for proper finishing. Drying time may vary according to the temperature and humidity of external environment and hence be cautious of the same and check thoroughly before recoating.
Do not apply if the ambient temperature is less than 10°C or in case there is a possibility of temperature drop to this level within 4- 6 hours. Do not apply it in wet weather or in case there is moisture on surface. Do not over thin the paint. Stir well before use.
