Surface Preparation

    Sand surface with 180 emery paper to remove dirt, oil, grease, and loose flaking particles of old paint etc. Wipe it clean.

    Apply a coat of primer depending upon the surface as per recommended dilution mentioned on pack. For ferrous metal surface Shalimar red oxide metal primer, Wood surface - Shalimar pink primer / universal white primer, Masonry surfaces - Shalimar Universal white primer. Ensure drying time of at least 6-8 hours for primer coat. Filled Dents & imperfections by using appropriate filler. Sand the surface lightly with emery paper 320 and wipe it clean. Apply an additional coat of appropriate primer (if required).

Top Coat

    Stir the paint thoroughly and strain through a muslin cloth before use. Dilute Shalimar Superlac PU Gloss Enamel with 5-7% by volume of GP thinner for brush application and up to 15% by volume for spray application. Over or under dilution will affect the finish and performance of the product. Stir the paint thoroughly after dilution and apply 2-3 coats (as per requirement) of Shalimar Superlac PU Gloss Enamel over the primer coat. Intervals between each coat is Min.6-8 hrs. If required do light sanding with emery paper 400 between the coats for proper finishing. Drying time may vary according to the temperature and humidity of external environment and hence be cautious of the same and check thoroughly before recoating.
